¿Habla español?

Updated: Mar 7, 2021

No? You can still reach out millions of Spanish speakers by translating your website into Spanish.

Truth is, online shopping is healthier than ever, while we all adapt to the new normal. Our shopping habits have changed, and maybe we want different things. Maybe not so many outfits but more interior design objects to make our homes beautiful. Maybe more skin treatments and less makeup. My habits have certainly changed, and even though I was already prone to online shopping for things that I'd already seen in person, I find myself buying jeans (of all things!) online.

So, what is important when you visit an e-store? What makes you trust one over another? I think it's information. The more, the better. Great pictures. A good quality website. And information you can understand. Companies that take the time and really think through about how they are going to display their product descriptions, measurements, sizing, and go the extra mile to offer high-quality photographs, do great online.

And then there are other companies that go the extra mile and translate that content into other languages. Now that's epic. That's going to make a world of a difference to someone who doesn't speak your language. Research shows that if you want to build a stronger personal connection with Spanish-speaking consumers, it makes sense to address them in their native language. Especially when it comes to understanding and trusting the information you worked so hard in putting out there.

Now there are available several resources to accomplish this. You certainly can use one of the several machine translation apps for free. But, even though they've come a long way... do you trust them 100%? How do you know it's accurate and won't discredit your brand? Because that's exactly what happens when you read something in your own language with mistakes or even completely wrong altogether. And you lose a sale ─and a customer.

So, if you decide you want to go to the next level and translate your website's content, be sure to hire a qualified human translator who can help your online business thrive.
